June 25, 2021 – Loxton
Loxton Branch of Catholic Women’s League hosted the Riverland Vicariate meeting on June 25, 2021, at the Loxton Club. It was a joy for members to get-together, particularly after the cancellation of the 2020 Vicariate due to Covid restrictions.
Mass was celebrated with Father Paul Bourke prior to the meeting and luncheon.
Executive guests were CWL State President Anne Redden, Diocesan President Anne Marie Clarke, Diocesan Secretary Philomena Jeffrey and Minute Secretary Carmel Kelly.
Berri, Waikerie and Loxton branches presented reports detailing their activities and the necessary adjustments due to Covid. It is always interesting and inspiring to learn about the undertakings of other branches.
Val Fewster, representing Berri Branch, reported on a successful Women’s Retreat at Barmera in April, as well as numerous charitable and spiritual works. A highlight of Sue Bertoli‘s report from Waikerie branch was detail of the Prayer Box that has been introduced at their meetings.
Loxton’s report was presented by Barb DeMichelis who said that Prayer Partners continued to grow, with twenty-four ladies now participating. The Branch also hosted the Vicariate family for a Christmas get-together.
Waikerie CWL Branch will be hosting the next Vicariate.
