The Parish of Streaky Bay had a great celebration of Family Farming on Divine Mercy Sunday. It was a warm day. Fr Steve blessed the fields during the Mass and all prayed for rain and it started to rain at about 8.00pm. Sunday night. Seeding has begun in earnest.
The NET Team made a fantastic commitment to the celebrations, as did Anthony Duns who coordinated the day. Sophia led the singing at Mass and they planned and executed some innovative games and activities that wore the young people out. Aside from that they simply engaged with the parishioners and entered fully into the spirit of the day.
The NET Team also coordinated a workshop for our youth on the Friday afternoon. The feedback from the kids and families was super encouraging and I was reminded again that youth ministry facilitated by young Gospel witnesses is so powerful, sometimes even life changing.
