Adult Christian/Catholic Formation is a lifelong process that gives purpose and meaning to our lives as followers of Christ. It involves firstly the study of God’s message revealed in the Holy Scripture and in the Church’s teaching. Secondly requires engagement with the sacraments and religious practices that equip and shape our daily lives. In our Diocese we support adult formation through RCIA, ALPHA and through Ministry Formation Program provided by Archdiocese of Adelaide.
If you, or perhaps someone you know, is interested in becoming a Catholic, receiving Sacraments of Initiation, returning to the Church, or just curious about our faith and religion, you are invited to join us for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
RCIA is a formation program to prepare adults for full communion with the Roman Catholic Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion. It primarily is for those who are not baptised, but adults baptised as Catholics or in other Christian faith traditions who wish to be confirmed as Catholics are welcomed, as well.

The Alpha course is an evangelistic course which seeks to introduce the basics of the Christian faith through a series of talks and discussions. It is described as “an opportunity to explore the meaning of life”. Alpha courses are run in churches, homes, workplaces, prisons and a wide variety of other locations.
We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore faith, ask questions and share their point of view. Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.
